Sept. 18, 2010 his holiness, Pope Benedict XVI, leaving/greeting, from St. Peters Residence care home for the poor elderly, run by the Little Sisters of the Poor,(Founded by St.Jeanne Jugan in 1839 in Brittany, France to care for the elderly poor, the Little Sisters of the Poor came to England in 1851. In 1863 they moved from ‘Paragon’, a crescent on the Old Kent Road, to the present site in Meadow Road.)
