Abuse Hoax: Accusations against Two French Bishops

On June 13, La Rochelle Bishop Georges Colomb asked to be "withdrawn" of his duties. He is accused of sexual abuse of a certain Nicolas, an adult man. Colomb denies any wrongdoing.

This is Nicolas' original story. He said that Colomb proposed during a dinner an oil massage "to relax him". The massage never took place.

Strasbourg Auxiliary Bishop Gilles Reithinger is accused of “covering up” the matter. The allegations relate to a time when Colomb and Reithinger both belonged to the Missions Étrangères, a French religious community. Colomb was the superior, and Reithinger his assistant.

After Nicolas told Reithinger about the proposal, Reithinger informed Paris Nuncio Luigi Ventura who himself accepted in 2021 a conviction for homosexual assault.

Reithinger insists that Nicholas’ version has “evolved considerably” since 2013.
