Great summary of the impossible position taken by those who think that that Bergoglio is the Pope, yet resist him and say all kinds of ugly things a Catholic would never say about the Vicar of Christ. At least the Sedes are consistent, and arrive at their position through great respect for the Papacy, instead of trashing Catholic teaching in order to never have to admit the obvious.

Is “Recognize and Resist” antithetical to the Catholic ethos? Can quotations from Leo XIII of other popes of the last 150 years rule it out?
Obviously one should not ever want to be in a position of resisting a wayward pope, who is ventilating his private and dubious theological opinions from his chair, or who, while strenuously avoiding the requisites of infallibility, sows confusion and error.
