Father Louis Marx - Rest In Peace

Father Louis Marx was not just a great shepherd but a father figure to me. I had just seen him yesterday and today I received the news that he passed away. Yesterday I felt in my heart that he would die, but rejected that feeling. I have brought many people to him so he could give them counsel, almost twenty years of a pilgrimage of people that I would bring to him because he was the only priest who would be willing to help them unlike others.

I'm not belittling other priests but Fr. Louis N. Marx was always available even though he was a very busy priest, he would make the time, even if he was very tired, to see people. He was firm when giving advice, and would not hesitate to let people know that their sin could take them to hell, but he would say that in a firm and loving way. He was not afraid to tell them the truth, and not afraid to be accused for it before the bishop. He wanted to end his life serving the lord and did not believe in retirement, he said he was a priest and he wanted to die a priest serving till his last breath.

I miss the fact that he was a priest who devoted his life to helping and loving others, to bring them Holy communion, to confess them, to assist them, to help them run errands like getting groceries for them, to visit the sick, to visit those in need, to pray outside the abortion clinics, he did so many things that not even young priests would do. he had no time because his time was not his but God's.

So he devoted his priesthood to serving others, instead of indulging himself in his personal needs. He would wake up at 5 pr 5:30 am to do his payers and to pray for all tha lay people who went to his church. He was a Diocesan priest, but a very devoted one to Our Lord and Our Lady. I could keep on talking about him, but I will appreciate if anyone can pray for his soul,he was terrified of purgatory and begged God to give him time to do penance so he could avoid the torments of purgatory.

His two legs got an infection and he could not do as much as he did before, but he would still serve people, giving them counseling, confession, and other things he could do while he was sitting down with one of his legs up. He was a very loving, devoted, and pious man who taught piety inside the church and the blessed sacrament.

People did not make noises inside the church they respected it, and you could truly pray inside because no noise was heard, and feel God's peace and love in that silence, a lot of piety, unlike many other churches nowadays that are being desacralized and vandalized by lay people.
