Leo XIV Made This Joker A Bishop: "Today, the Women Will Win"

Bishop Beat Grögli, 54, of St Gallen, Switzerland, who was appointed by Pope Leo XIV on 22 May, is a fan of women's football. He attended the Women's European Championship final between England and Spain at the football stadium in Basel on July 27.

On Instagram, Bishop Grögli showed the fan jersey he wore on the stadium bench: a white polo shirt bearing the homemade German inscription: "Today the women win."

On the back, he had written in red letters in English: "Well played" and "God bless".
