www.ourladyofsorrows.org - There are few places in the entire world like Our Lady of Sorrows. Located in south Phoenix, Our Lady of Sorrows is a Catholic community that offers a complete life centered around the Latin Mass and the traditions of the Faith. - Transcript of the Video - It towers two stories over everything else in the area. For miles in every direction you can see it rising up above the plains. This new Church is truly a testimony to the belief that the faithful have in the Catholic Mass and in the real presence of our Lord Jesus Christ. There are few places in the entire world like Our Lady of Sorrows. Located in south Phoenix, Our Lady of Sorrows is a Catholic community that offers a complete life centered around the Latin Mass and the traditions of the Faith. Here at Our Lady of Sorrows, the community enjoys a vibrant Catholic environment, a priory of Traditionally formed priests, and a private school – all centered around the daily sacrifice of the Mass. Our Lady of Sorrows takes root in the unchanging Latin Mass – because from it flow the sacraments. These channels of graces help each person through every stage of their life. Giving our children a proper Traditional baptism is really our first duty to them. The anointing with the sacred oil. The pouring of the water. The consecration of each newborn to our Lady’s care… everything shows respect for the life of grace in this new soul. Each phase of life calls for new graces, new strength. It is through the confessional that we find ourselves face to face with our Lord, through the priest. Confession is the perfect way to open our hearts to our Lord so we can talk to Him in Holy Communion. When you stop and think about what happens at each Communion – that God is there – with you, listening to you, helping you – it’s just incredible. It's the sacramental strength of confirmation and the bonds of catholic marriage that support the purpose of our community. Our goal is to build, encourage, and support good catholic families. Confirmation gives you the strength to do what you’re meant to do …to be a soldier of Christ,…to give good example, …to live in the presence of God so we can receive Him properly at Mass. Our Lady of Sorrows – and the work of Tradition – is unique in that many families here are young families that have many children. There are over 600 parishioners that attend daily or weekly Mass here. Of these over 200 are children. The school attached to Our Lady of Sorrows serves to educate and form the youth to be responsible adults, who – by their love of God – want to serve Him in their fellow man. The reason we chose Our Lady of Sorrows is because we wanted our kids to have a truly Catholic education. I feel the school not only offers a good environment, but also transmits that formation of Catholic virtue. One of the fruits of this Catholic formation and environment is vocations. It is certainly a special grace to have a vocation. Our Lady of Sorrows – as a community, as a priory, as a school – prepares the youth to respond to that vocation if God calls them. On the property here we have a priory where priests and religious brothers live in common. There’s daily Mass, the Divine Office, the Liturgical Life – where Christ is the focus; where the Mass is the centerpiece. The youth here see the dedication of a priest to his duty; they’re shown by daily example how a religious brother supports the mission of the priest. And it’s through their example that the youth are attracted to give their life to God as well. Being a part of our Lady of Sorrows opened my eyes to the priesthood. Without what I learned here, I could have easily missed God’s call to be the priest I am today. I’ve seen Our Lady of Sorrows grow for over three decades. I’ve stayed here because of the Latin Mass. The Last Rites. A Catholic death. Is there any better place to be when my time comes? The whole mission and goal of Our Lady of Sorrows is to pass on the Catholic Faith in its fullness and purity. It’s through the Traditional Latin Mass, through each sacrament, and each Holy Communion that souls are given to God and God is given to souls. - For more information, please visit www.ourladyofsorrows.org and sspx.org or come experience the richness of the Latin Mass this Sunday at Our Lady of Sorrows at 750 East Baseline Road, Phoenix. 2015 © Society of St. Pius X of Arizona, Inc. - Produced by Visual Contrast LLC, Joe Carroll in association with the Society of St. Pius X
