Bishop Celebrates Latin Mass in a Cathedral (Pictures) - Traditionis Custodes R.I.P.

Bishop Fernando Arêas Rifan celebrated a Pontifical Mass in the Roman Rite in the full Cathedral of Montes Claros on 25 August, reports Ssvm.org.br.

The invitation to Bishop Rifan was extended by the Archbishop of Montes Claros, Monsignor José Carlos, 56.

Monsignor Rifan is the head of the Apostolic Administration of St John Vianney in Brazil, which is dedicated to the Roman Rite [with signs of softening towards the Novus Ordo].

Bishop Claros was present at the Mass in his cathedral and told Monsignor Rifan afterwards that "the doors are open" for him to return whenever he wishes.

The Mass in the cathedral marked the 12th anniversary of the Latin Mass in Montes Claros, organised by the Society of the Blessed Virgin Mary (SSVM).

Monsignor Rifan also visited a piece of land purchased by the Society to build a retreat centre in the city.
