Saint Ralph Sherwin (FILM TRAILER) marysdowry youtube.com/watch?v=HtSS87zhPE0 Saint Ralph Sherwin was a young Englishman called to be a missionary priest when the Catholic Faith was outlawed in England during Penal Times. He secretly left England to train to become a priest and returned with a group of Jesuits and laymen to enter England in secret where they were hunted by the government. With his friend John Paschal, Saint Ralph Sherwin managed to elude the priest catchers and celebrate the outlawed Mass as well as bring the illegal Sacraments to the Catholic people until his eventual capture and arrest. He was tortured in the Tower of London but remained firm in the Faith. What brought him the most grief was when his friend John Paschal relented under torture and denied the Faith. Paschal was eventually reconciled to the Church and spent the rest of his life as a persecuted recusant Catholic. Saint Ralph Sherwin made many inspiring speeches at his trial and execution which were preserved by the Elizabethan government, as well as his last letters to friends and to his uncle, a Marian priest. He was executed with Saint Edmund Campion and Saint Alexander Briant on December 1st 1581 at the triple Tyburn Gallows. He was an important priest and missionary for England with a very special love for the Mother of God. He is very special to England as Our Lady's Dowry and a great intercessor for today.
