Italian MP Criticises Francis, Repeats Words of Bishops
After his visit, Francis spoke to journalists saying that "the inmates are good people" and that "any of us can make a mistake".
Vannacci told AffariItaliani.it that he would have expected Francis to say similar kind words for the victims of crime.
According to him, there is rarely a word for them, namely "for those people who have been robbed, injured, raped, abused, killed by the prisoners whom Francis visited today".
"My solidarity is above all with them, not with the prisoners," Vannacci said, "who are serving the just sentence for their crimes."
Vannacci's statements makes one vomit, comments FaroDiRoma.it.
But to save Vannacci's honour it must be said that his words only echoed the usual condemnations that bishops make against priests accused of homosexual crimes who could be inmates in Rebibbia.
