: Critics of Hispanidad argue—rightly—that the empire ended long ago. No one denies that; it would be illogical to do so. What we defend in Hispanidad is the civilizational imperial substratum that remains and that no one can deny. There is nothing else like it. Now, these same people who argue that Hispanidad is dead still believe in the “rose legend” of Europe, once called Christendom, which ceased to exist as such precisely for that reason [fall of Spanish Empire]. Europe is nothing more than a collection of nations with completely opposing interests, without any common foundation beyond faith (for those who still have it) and geography—and all that implies. “Europe,” as an entity, does not exist. And whatever remained died in 1945. Since then, it has been a continent invaded and subjugated. So, if Hispanidad does not exist, does Europe somehow exist? It is the same logic. The EU is Germany and France subjugating the rest with Wi-Fi, joined by England and driven by the USA. What “Europe” are they talking about? Hispanidad, despite centuries of separation, is infinitely stronger and more alive than present-day Europe. And no, I am not culturally united with a Finn or a Norwegian. I am united with America, from Alaska to Patagonia. We are not French, we are not German, we are not English. We are Spanish. Orbit non sufficit
