Crazy Church: Cardinal Cupich Celebrates Gay Crucifix

Chicago Cardinal Blase Cupich, USA, published on Twitter the picture of a gay-themed crucifix.

The photo was taken on July 28 during the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Parish St. Martha in Morton Grove.

It shows Cupich presiding a New Rite Eucharist, surrounded by four co-presiders. Behind Cupich on the wall is the crucifix.

It has the shape of the Saint Francis crucifix in Assisi and was produced by the self-declared homosexual Franciscan Brother Robert Lentz.

Lenz painted on the crucifix a muscular naked man, gliding through the outer space towards the view so that only his head, torso and arms are visible. Behind him is the Milky Way and a dark demon with outstretched hands.

Lentz called his crucifix "The Dance of Creation." The demon he interprets as wisdom which "dances and sings playfully in the background."

Bro Robert Lentz painted an iconostasis for historic All Saints Church (built in brown brick Bohemian Romanesque style" in Houston Heights. The architect in charge of historical maintenance had to prevent him from trying to completely redo the interior in Spanish Mission style. When he was staying at this Houston parish to do his art work, he was haughty, short-tempered, inconsiderate of the Pastor and parish council, and rude to many of the parishioners. (I was there, I saw all.) His central Holy Trinity is a variation of this naked Christ. There are pictures of this Church online and his icons online. Yes, it is beautiful, but the sight-lines of the iconostasis are subtly wrong, and "fight" with the 12 apostle windows above the altar.

What's infuriating me no end is how this "abomination" looks as though it was created by re-painting a San Damiano Crucifix. Undoubtely part of the artist's foul blaspheming intent.
