Excerpt: “The admirable Secret of the Most Holy Rosary”
by Saint Louis-Marie Grignion de Montfort
Ministers of the Most High, preachers of the truth, trumpeters of the Gospel, allow me to present to you the white rose of this little book to put in your heart and in your mouth the truths which are exposed there simply, without politeness. In your heart, to undertake the holy practice of the Rosary yourselves and taste its fruits. In your mouth, to preach to others the excellence of this practice and convert them by this means. Be careful, please, to regard this practice as small and of little consequence like the vulgar, and even like many proud scholars; she is truly great, sublime and divine. It is heaven that gave it to us, and gave it to convert the most hardened sinners and the most obstinate heretics. God has attached grace in this life and glory in the next. The saints practiced it and the sovereign Pontiffs authorized it. Oh ! How happy a priest (and director of souls) is, to …More

QUESTION 20 — LOVE IN GOD
1.Is love found in God?
2. Does God love all things?
3. Does he love someone more than another?
4. Does he like the best people more?
Article 1 — Is love found in God?
Objections:
1.
It seems not. For there is no passion in God. Love is a passion. So there is no love in God. 2 . Love, anger, sadness, etc. are distinguished as opposites in the same gender. However, sadness and anger are only attributed to God by metaphor. So also love. 3 . We read in Dionysius: “Love is a unifying force and a principle of cohesion. ” But this cannot find place in God, since it is simple. Such a force cannot find use in an absolutely simple being. On the contrary , we read in St. John (1 Jn 4:16): “God is love. ” Answer: We necessarily find love in God. In fact, the first movement of the will or of any appetitive faculty is love. For the act of the will, or the act of the appetite whatever it may be, is directed as to its own object towards good and towards evil. But the good is …More

The fire of earth [Jesus in our heart] shines in heaven. It enlightens all those who take refuge in God, welcome him and accept to live with his light. To the young people gathered in Rome in 2000, Pope John Paul II said of Jesus:
“He is the beauty to which you are so attracted; it is he who provokes you with that thirst for fullness that will not let you settle for compromise; it is he who urges you to shed the masks of a false life; it is he who reads in your hearts your most genuine choices, the choices that others try to stifle. It is Jesus who stirs in you the desire to do something great with your lives.”

Is the Archdiocese of New York Pushed into Bankruptcy?

A New York state appeals court ruled on 23 April that an insurance company for the Archdiocese of New York doesn't have to pay to settle 1,500 mostly homosexual abuse claims.
The archdiocese called the ruling 'extremely disappointing' and 'wrong'. The five judges unanimously overturned a lower court's order from December 2023 that would have forced the insurer to pay.
The insurance group had issued more than 30 liability policies to the archdiocese and several of its parishes, schools and institutions between 1956 and 2003.
New laws enacted in 2019 (the Child Victims Act) and 2022 (the Adult Survivors Act) have opened the door to hundreds of previously time-barred claims. Some of the allegations date back to the 1930s (sic).
"If allowed to stand, the decision will allow insurance companies to evade the contractual obligations of the policies they issue," Joseph Zwilling, director of communications for the archdiocese, told OSVNews.com (27 April).
The case now heads to New York's highest …More

1. To whom does your heart belong? To the devil, perhaps? It may be that you have allowed him to insinuate himself into your soul, so that you have fallen under his tyranny and are trying to find happiness in the satisfaction of your lower impulses. Remember the warning of St. Paul: “If anyone destroys the temple of God, him will God destroy; for holy is the temple of God and this temple you are.” (1 Cor. 3:17) If you have fallen this low, you will suffer the penalty decreed by the Holy Spirit: “There is no peace to the wicked.” (Is. 48:22) You expected to find satisfaction, and you have found disillusionment. You hoped for peace and found remorse. Instead of the happiness you expected you will know only despair unless you turn back to God immediately. There is only one way out of your predicament, the way chosen by the prodigal son: “I will get up and go to my father.” (Luke 15:18) Rise up, then, and cast yourself into the merciful arms of your heavenly Father Who is waiting for you. …More

The Collegium Sanctorum Angelorum, a Catholic college in northwestern Maryland, told LifeSiteNews.com (24 April) that nearby Holy Mass will be suppressed in August.
College officials say that this is being implemented by direct order from Rome: "It was not initiated by the Archbishop [of Baltimore], who has been supportive of the Latin Mass and the Collegium."
Officially, this extremists step is being enforced by Archbishop William Lori of Baltimore after "consultation" with the Vatican. In the Vatican "consultation" means "dictation".
For the Collegium Sanctorum Angelorum, Holy Mass is an important part of the formation of students. Its website states: "The spiritual life revolves around the traditional Latin Mass at nearby St Mary's Catholic Church, a parish of the Archdiocese of Baltimore. Students attend Mass and sing Lauds and Vespers daily."
