These comparisons are completely meaningless.
The average home of 1930 was probably less than half the size, had no insulation, had cheap, single-pane windows, and if they had indoor plumbing and electrical service, it would have been limited to a couple of fixtures and all that very plain. It was cold, drafty, leaky, and with no modern amenities. And this home would have been shared by multiple generations and extended family.
A great many of the "apartments" in 1930 would have been single-room boarding houses with shared bathrooms!

JD Vance defends comments on wife’s Hindu faith

@Paolo F What a creative person you must be! Nonetheless, are you suggesting that eternity in hell would be preferable?

I am a Catholic. Just that I wanted to put on something modest

Looking at how, and how well, this lady's eyes are made-up, I'm not thinking that modesty is in her mind.

I am a Catholic. Just that I wanted to put on something modest

And...the problem with that...is...???

Jesus instructs James as future Jerusalem Bishop & that he must never flee [Poem Vol 2 Ch 258 (6)], …

The parents of the four men named as brothers of Jesus (St. James, Joses, Simon, and St. Jude) are plainly cited in Holy Scripture.
Their father is cited in Matt. 10:3, Mark 3:18, and Acts 1:13. The modern understanding that Alpheus was a brother of James and not his father is contradicted by the Douay-Rheims, the A.V., The Orthodox New Testament, and The Peshitta (Lamsa translation, 1933), ALL of which render Matt. 10:3 as "James the son of Alpheus".
The mother of these four (James, Joses, Simon, Jude) was the BVM's sister, Mary, cited in Matt. 27:56, Mark 15:47 & 16:1, & John 19:25. Concerning the citation in John, do the research on the names "Cleophas" and "Alpheus". Even some vehement schismatics conclude they are analogous and may refer to the same person. They do. And that man, the father of the first Bishop of Jerusalem, "the Lord's brother", is not Joseph.

Hello, and kind regards,
I don't know who you are, but there's a slight chance you may remember me or know of me. I'm the fellow who, at last year's conference, backed his old, red Camaro into the ditch.
I'm a little bit stuck on Feeney. Can you please tell me, succinctly, why Feeney didn't go to Rome when summoned?

No Human is Illegal

Of course, this is true.
However, "A removable alien residing within the borders of the United States with no lawful right to do so" takes up a lot more room on a sign or a meme, so...I don't really understand the nit-pickery.
How is effecting the removal of a "removable alien" a "human rights violation"? How is there a "human right" for anyone on earth to reside within any political boundary other than the one in which they were born?
And, how is it a constitutional violation to remove from within the political boundaries of the United States anyone who is lawfully established to be a "removable alien"?
I'm not suggesting there shouldn't be compassion. But working to prevent deportations (in those cases where the deportee is genuinely a "removable alien") is a foolish and reckless expression of any such alleged "compassion."

Meet baby Charlie. His parents were told his organs were underdeveloped in the womb & were advised to …

Yes. It is not impossible that he be considered by God to have been baptized, but we cannot assume so.
This is Church dogma:
"Baptism by water ( Baptismus fluminis ) is, since the promulgation of the Gospel, necessary for all men without exception, for salvation."
This is from Ludwig Ott's Fundamentals of Catholic Dogma:
"Many theologians of modern times...accept other substitute means of baptism for children dying without sacramental baptism, such as...the desire of the parents." "These...means for sacramental baptism are indeed possible, but their actuality cannot be proved from Revelation."
I feel it is very dangerous to rely on our own hope, or our own thinking, or modern theology, in place of what we are certain has been revealed by the Holy Spirit to the Church. A child born in danger of imminent death should be baptized immediately.

@jili22 This is a misunderstanding. If baptism of desire is this way, then, you and I can baptize everyone on earth by our intention. But, not so. The desire must be in the heart of the one baptized.

@jili22 Baptism of desire requires intention. A newborn baby cannot form intention.
