Fr. Linus is - like Cardinal Burke and Bishop Schneider - an axeman of the truth. He will suffer for the truth but having big effects in this time of Church-crisis.

I would suggest that Fr. Clovis is jumping the gun concerning the various positions that have been expressed at the first meeting of the Synod on the family with regard to the final conclusions the Magisterium may or may not approve on the matter. It would be wiser to let the dust settle before questioning the authority of the Pope in such an untimely manner.

It transmits it to the successors of the apostles so that, enlightened by the Spirit of truth, they may faithfully preserve, expound and spread it abroad by their preaching."
CCC: " 86 Yet this Magisterium is not superior to the Word of God, but is its servant.
It teaches only what has been handed on to it.
At the divine command and with the help of the Holy Spirit, it listens to this devotedly, guards it with dedication and expounds it faithfully.
All that it proposes for belief as being divinely revealed is drawn from this single deposit of faith. "
CCC: " 1451 Among the penitent's acts contrition occupies first place. Contrition is "sorrow of the soul
and detestation for the sin committed,
together with the resolution not to sin again."

JESUS - said that we must take the log out of our own eye first, in order that we may see clearly to take the splinter out of the eye of our brothers,
and that we will be judged with the same measure with which we judge - Lk 6:42, and Mt 7:5.
