Abuse Hoax: Justice Comes Too Late

Chile’s Supreme Court has quashed charges against Bishop Emeritus Bernardo Bastres Florence, 67, of Punta Arenas.

Bastres was falsely accused of “covering up” an alleged kidnapping of Ricardo Harex González, then 17, who disappeared in 2001.

This put an end to the bishop's persecution by lying lawyers and bought oligarch journalists. But justice came too late for him. Bastres retired in December 2021 at the age of 66 and his reputation has been shattered.

He was one of the few bishops in Chile who did not fall for the Covid swindle.
