Carmelite Kicked Out for Wanting to Be a Carmelite

Father Abel de Jesús, a Spanish Discalced Carmelite, has been expelled from his order (InfoVaticana.com, September 14).

His superiors were furious with him for insisting on the basic elements of his order such as wearing the habit, two hours of daily mental prayer and the practice of external silence.

De Jesús, is known for having a YouTube channel where he shares videos on evangelisation. In a video, he says, that his superiors kicked him out although he had no intention of leaving the order.

Last year, encouraged by his superior at the time, he wrote a letter to the General Chapter of Carmelite Superiors. The letter caused an internal uproar because it said that Carmelites should live like Carmelites.

In Newchurch, only Catholics are not welcome. I'm proud to be an unwelcome Catholic.

I refer Father Abel de Jesús to the Coalition for Canceled Priests (CFCP). This faithful organization was started in the U.S. and is providing help also to canceled priests from other countries as well.

To the laity, I recommend supporting the CFCP by our prayers and monetary support. We need to protest this wickedness with our voices and our dollars.

Not surprising; our present pontiff appears to be doing the same to Catholics who wish to be Catholic.
