Pope Does "Not Want to Rush" the Recognition of the SSPX

On his way from Fatima, Pope Francis spoke yesterday, as usual, to the journalists on the plane. Addressing the question of the Priestly Society of Saint Pius X he stressed that he has a „good relationship“ to its superior general, bishop Bernard Fellay, adding: „I dont‘ want to rush things. You have to walk, walk, walk - and then we will see.“

According to Francis the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith still needs to resolve problems of competence, for instance in cases of sexual abuse or of the laicization of priests.
