This past Sunday we had dinner with some friends and invited an acquaintance to join us and little did we know what the conversation would turn into. As we learned, it was almost 2yrs to the day when our acquaintance's husband died of COVID. He was one of the early victims and they had no idea he was sick with COVID. Long story short, he went to bed with cold sweats and when our guest described what she saw when going to bed later that night was the first in many surprising turns. Her husband was a very big man and when she realized that he was not breathing she called to her adult children who were living at home at the time. One called 911 and the other came to the bedroom to help with his dad. They tried to do chest compressions to get/keep his heart beating and gave mouth-to-mouth but quickly realized the bed wouldn't work as it just sank each time they tried compressions.
