The Ostracism of the Old Liturgy Must End at Last! By Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger

"It is also important for awareness raising in matters of liturgy that the ostracism of the form of liturgy valid until 1970 must cease at last.

Anyone today who supports the continuation of this liturgy or participates in it is treated like a leper; this is where all tolerance ends.

There has never been such a thing in the whole of history; in doing so, one is also ostracising the whole past of the Church. How can one trust its present when it is like this?

Frankly, I also do not understand why many of my episcopal confreres, for no apparent reason, largely submit to this intolerance, which stands in the way of the necessary inner reconciliations in the Church.

The second link providing Ratzinger's comments is out of context. At the time, Cardinal Ratzinger was making a prediction of what he believed would be the collapse of the church, how God would purify the Church once again, he wasn't presenting it as any type of hopeful convictions and dreams/agenda for the future. That's complete misrepresentation. Ratzinger was also completely against the growing "higher criticism" in theology where attempts were being made to remove the divine mysteries of the Church and replace them with rationalism by those such a Rahner..

"Suspect' and 'guilty of' are two different things." I see we have another legalist knockin' down some of the rhetorical grand-standing that goes on around here. Good. :)

Did he? In what way?

"for no apparent reason" Wow! Most here have heard of St. Pius X's encyclical on Modernism, right? Many Americans today act like occult processed zombies! I guess that is also for no apparent reason?

This guy is a snake, he speaks out of both sides of his mouth. He has led so many souls to hell with his modernist teachings it is horrific. He is not a traditionalist, he is a modernist who was suspect of heresy when he was a theologian and his is a heretic to this day. Here is the proof: traditioninaction.org/ProgressivistDoc/A_001_CondemnationRatzinger.htm

You're not qualified to accuse others of being "heretics", not as The Catholic Church uses the term.
