The Scripture warns against those who exchange the Truth for a lie and instead of being wise became Fools. Bishop Barron Praises Homosex Activist James Martin As A "Winsome Guide" Saint Paul warns that those who adore the Creature instead of adoring the Creator have perverse minds and fall into the vice of homosexuality.
The Word of God itself contradicts the heretical interpretation of the heresiarch Robert Barron because Elijah's successor, that is, Elisha, is commissioned by God himself to assassinate the worshipers of Baal by Sword.
1 Kings 19:14-18
Douay-Rheims 1899 American Edition
14 With zeal have I been zealous for the Lord God of hosts: because the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant: they have destroyed thy altars, they have slain thy prophets with the sword, and I alone am left, and they seek my life to take it away.
15 And the Lord said to him: Go, and return on thy way through the desert to Damascus: and when thou art come thither, thou shalt anoint Hazael to be king over Syria.
16 And thou shalt anoint Jehu the son of Namsi to be king over Israel: and Eliseus the son of Saphat, of Abelmeula, thou shalt anoint to be prophet in thy room.
17 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall escape the sword of Hazael, shall be slain by Jehu: and whosoever shall escape the sword of Jehu, shall be slain by Eliseus.
18 And I will leave me seven thousand men in Israel, whose knees have not been bowed before Baal, and every mouth that hath not worshipped him kissing the hands.
That's the same Bishop Barron who told Ben Shapiro that Jesus Christ is merely the 'privileged route' to salvation.
Comment found online: Saying Elijah was "fired" by God for being too violent with Baal-worshippers is horrific modernist exegesis. It's the same disease as woke critics of the past: we apply our man-made modern standards to condemn previous generations.
Saint Peter writes in the Second Letter that the ignorant and unstable twist the Scripture to their own perdition.
His story reads a lot more like being granted a well deserved retirement by God, rather than a firing, if we must frame it in modern terms. He actually had plenty more work to do after slaying the prophets of Baal. Sounds like Bp. Barron is becoming the NY Times editorial board of scriptural interpretation.
Well, it appears someone needs to be 'fired' and it isn't Elijah. That meeting on Mount Tabor wasn't Jesus connecting with dismissed employees. It appears Word on Fire may have to rename itself (In a) Word You're Fired.
Elijah, one of the greatest prophets of God Almighty, is "fired" by this Bishop arrogantly believing he is acting under God's instructions? Hubris is not pretty.
