Leo XIV Celebrated Roman Mass 12 Years Ago

Father Robert Prevost has supposedly celebrated the Mass according to the Roman rite. After weeks of speculation, confirmations and denials, US journalist Christine Niles named an eyewitness on X.com.

A certain Haron Smith confirmed to her that he had attended a Roman Rite Mass in Chicago in 2013, where he had met the then Superior General of the Augustinians, Father Robert Prevost, who was offering the Mass in the Roman Rite.

However, this Mass, which took place 12 years ago, is irrelevant unless Pope Leo XIV rescinds Traditionis Custodes.

Maybe every twelve years? Wow! Another one any day...or any year now!

Why not just ask the Vatican Press Office or Communications Division directly and explicitly if His Holiness has ever offered the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in the Roman Rite at any point during his Priesthood? Quit pussyfooting around with the question. Either he has or he hasn’t. The Holy See can, with his approval, confirm or at least bring clarity once and for all to this subject. Good grief. 😐
