No Vatican II Nostalgia: Young Clergy Rejects Francis

The Austin Institute has found that younger Catholic priests and priests ordained in the US in recent years tend to be significantly more Catholic than older clergy (Wsj.com, 18 December).

The priests commented on Catholic teachings such as the sinfulness of contraception, masturbation, homosexual acts and suicide, the invalidity of women's ordination and the necessity of faith in Christ for salvation.

Priests ordained in 2010 or later are the most faithful of all - and the least happy about Francis, who is still nostalgic for the decadence of the 1960s. About half (!) of the priests disapprove of him.

RECALL VATICAN II:
Vatican II has proven to be a defective product. Vatican II is like a defective life preserver that must be thrown away because if instead of saving you it sinks you, it is useless.

God Bless you Father Roman. I hope there are many more priests and seminarians like you in the USA, and in Poland. I read of last year alone, 13 Polish priests left the VAtican II Church and joined the SSPX. Some were Dominicans, Franciscans, and Pallotines, each wanting to return to true Catholicism. And they were not old men, but young priests. Some were diosecean priests as well. The SSPX is trying in Poland to find housing for the religious Order priests who leave the Vatican II Church, but who want to be faithful to thier religious Order. It sound like the SSPX in Poland will help them establish places where they can perpetuate their Orders. Hopefully young men will come to join them, rather than the religious Orders still faithful to Vatican II.
Just as an aside comment....I live near my Archdiocese of Philadelphia seminary which is closing/moving in 2024. I spoke to some seminarians and they say most of them despise Francis and his agenda for the Church. That is a very hopeful development. Hopefully it is happening world-wide.

Good for them, and for the Church. Apostasy shouldn't be that hard to reject for any faithful Catholic but this infusion of courage and faith is heartening.

It seems comical, but it is an astute observation to point out that Francis, who has accused Catholics and Catholic clergy of being nostalgic for the past, is nostalgic himself. O Root of Jesse’s stem, sign of God’s love for all his people: come to save us without delay!
