Church Rejects EU Promotion of Decadence in Africa
The European regime (EU) is using a ten-year economic cooperation agreement signed in 2016 with the ACP (Africa-Caribbean-Pacific) countries to promote decadence in Africa.
Passages of this text "contradict the religious and cultural values of the Ethiopian people", the statement notes.
For example, the phrase "sexual and genetic health and rights", mentioned in Article 36.2 of the agreement, is directly linked to the murder of unborn children, mutilation of sexual organs, perversion of children and promotion of adultery.
The Permanent Synod of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church denounced on 12 February the push of "Western countries" for homosexual sins. It called on the government not to give in to this pressure in order to protect society.
The synod recalled that homosexual acts are "unacceptable to God who created the wisdom of the world". It is "totally forbidden by the holy books" which contain the divine messages, and is also condemned by the rules of psychology.
It "disturbs mental equilibrium and disrupts individual identity and social bonds", the Synod declared, pointing out that homosexual acts are forbidden and considered a crime under the country's laws. Those found guilty of homosexual acts can be sentenced to up to 15 years in prison.
