In recent months, Asidonia-Jerez Diocese has made every effort to prevent the nuns from leaving, even looking for alternative sites but no viable solution has been found.

Wouldn't it be great (I know it's probably impossible), if the Carthusians some day soon could re-purchase their former charterhouse (monastery). I think that the Carthusians are among the best of religious Orders in the Church, and though they have suffered declines and loses of monasteries since Vatican II and the filth that came from it, they have remained somewhat traditional, and have in no way given in to liturgical abuses and dissenting theology and wholesale discarding of tradition as another once great cloistered male Orde,r the Trappists, have done.
The Sisters of Bethlehem would do well to just integrate themselves into the Carthusian Order, bringing their 600+ sisters, and 25+ monasteries into the Order as Carthusian nuns.
