Next Catholic Group in Francis’ Crosshairs?

The Novus Ordo Priestly Fraternity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, based in Genoa, Italy, is presently undergoing a sort of re-education, an article on AldoMariaValli.it (June 14) suggests.

There are voices that the anti-Catholic Genoa Archbishop Repole has blocked the election of their superior and imposed a commissioner.

The group consisting of priests, sisters and lay members was founded in 1968 by Father Theodossios Maria della Croce Sgourdelis (+1989), a former Greek general and diplomat who converted from Orthodoxy.

Members of the group are running parishes in Italy and France.

The Fraternity doesn’t use a meal-table in its houses, cultivates the liturgy and liturgical chant, is very obsequious, and pays a lot of homage to Francis (“always in harmony with the Holy Father's teaching”). But seemingly, all this was not enough to placate the wrath of the dictator.
