It's a virulently anti-Christian film, delighting in associating Christianity with totalitarianism and, of course, religious steretypes that would end the professional careers of everyone involved in the production had anything comparable been made agaisnt, say, Muslims. The "paedo-priest" is acceptable to Hollywood, the "jihadist Imam" is not. Anyway, here's a shot of the film's anarchist, atheist anti-hero for comparison.
"Outrage" is something the media manufactures through its selective reporting and focus. While I'm certain there -is- outrage at this desecration is simply isn't publicized or legitimized through favourable coverage.
