Leo XIV 'Allowed' Confession By Telephone

In the summer of 2020, Monsignor Prevost wrote in a now-deleted post on Facebook.com that "the schedule of confessions will be from Monday to Saturday from 9 to 12, and by mobile phone".
This fact has been confirmed by local media such as Rpp.pe (1 July 2020) when reporting on the reopening of the cathedral.
Back then, Communion was only given on the hand and behind a glass window. The picture below shows the glass partition that separated the faithful from the priest during Communion in the Cathedral of Chiclayo.
Other measures in the cathedral included taking the temperature of people at the entrance, compulsory disinfection of hands and checking that everyone was wearing a mask. Children under 14 and people over 65 were not allowed to enter the cathedral for the Eucharist.
Prevost also promoted the controversial Covid-vaccine.
In July 2020, Bishop Prevost allowed only five churches to open their doors to at least few of the faithful. All other churches remained closed.
