Benedict XVI sent Archbishop Georg Gänswein to Paolo Gabriele, 54, three days before he died (November 24).
According to Vatican-Magazin.de, Gänswein administered the Last Rites and gave Gabriele Holy Communion.
Gabriele was Benedict’s personal butler who stole confidential documents from Benedict's desk and leaked them to journalists. This became known as Vati-Leaks I.
