Abusive Abuse Report Published in Australia

Catholic League’s Bill Donohue has reviewed an August report by the Centre for Global Research at RMIT University, Melbourne, “Child Sexual Abuse in the Catholic Church,” authored by two ex-priests Desmond Cahill and Peter Wilkinson.

The report argues against the autonomy of diocesan bishops, the seal of confession, celibacy, sexual purity and in favor of lay selection of bishops, “full gender balance” and state control of the Church. It hushes up the fact that most sexual abuses of minors were committed by homosexuals.

Donohue calls the report “deeply flawed”, “highly politicized”, “poorly edited” and “one of the most sophomoric attempts to deal with the issue of clergy sexual abuse ever published.”
