Too Much 'Synodality': Francis' Successor in Buenos Aires Falls Out of Favour

As so many others before him, Archbishop García Cuerva, 56, of Buenos Aires, Argentina, who was appointed in November 2023, has fallen out of Francis' favour, writes La Cigüeña de la Torre on InfoVaticana.com (November 16).
The latest sign was that he was completely ignored when it came to distributing positions and responsibilities within the Argentine Episcopal Conference during the recent autumn meeting. Monsignor García Cuerva is reduced to a second member of the Bishops' Commission for Prison Pastoral Care and a third member of the Bishops' Commission for Culture.
Some bishops are already wondering if he is in danger of having to leave his archdiocese.
The problem: Monsignor Garciá Cuerva has been making decisions in Buenos Aires without consulting the micromanaging Francis and even against his wishes.
Francis told two young Argentine priests who assist him, that he didn't like García Cuerva's changes in the priestly seminary and some pastoral appointments of priests.
