Steve Bannon Predicted Election of Cardinal Prevost: Ideologically Like Francis, But Better Organized

Former Trump strategist Steve Bannon, who has been divorced three times, predicted the election of Cardinal Robert Prevost 10 days before the conclave in an interview with Piers Morgan (video sequence below).

He told Corriere.it (May 11) that while betting circles and mainstream media didn’t mention Cardinal Prevost, there was plenty of talk about him "behind the scenes".

The reason was that Cardinal Prevost solved problems. He is "ideologically aligned with Francis to complete Bergoglio's radical reshaping of the Church but more organised".

And: "Traditionalist Catholics have been able to create such an uproar in recent years" that donations from the United States have dropped by nearly 50 percent.

In this situation, "Prevost is perfect", Bannon said, because "he is American, but not too much; he was born in America, but he is more Peruvian; he is close to liberation theology".

Bannon believes that the election of Leo XIV was organized by Francis' globalist curia: "It is impossible for a virtually unknown American archbishop, who has spent most of his life in Peru and has been a cardinal for less than two years, to come to a conclave and win on the fourth ballot."

So, the "campaign" was rigged; but the election was fair and square? He was elected, wasn't he?

Who tf is writing this leftist slant “married 3 times” BS? Bannon is right. Gloria TV KUMBAYA News is not.

We must wait. And pray

Wait for what? That is the question. When Our Blessed Lord began His public ministry, do you think people were better off hanging at a distance until they were sure of Him? Can you trust your own judgement or do you rely on others to say it is safe? Reminds me of ducks; most think you are an axe murderer when you approach but there will be one who is most trusting and takes you as you are. I see no threat from him. I highly recommend re reading St John Bosco's dream about the Pope on a ship. Take note of how he describes the death of the first Pope and it matches Francis exactly; struck down, recovers, struck down again and dies, next comes a holy Pope. Look ye with eyes to see...

Oh?! Could it be the Catholic bishops closed all their churches? Kind of hard to take a collection during the offertory when masses were banned.
But yeah, it was those "trads" not the Church hierarchy who are to blame. /sarc

There is no evidence that he is ideologically aligned with Francis. There is evidence that he uses the same language as the enemies of the Church in order that they become ensnared in their own devices. He might say "in the name of progress and synodality I will replace the entire curia with new people from around the world" and then install unknown and holy men. I think he is brilliant and those who judge him are acting like God's ways should be their ways. God can do what He wants, I for one will keep my eyes open and judge the man by his OWN words and actions. This isn't politics anymore and people need to be careful.

Wurl, Kaspar and Cupich were obviously thrilled at the announcement....obvious and undeniable from their faces as the name was announced.......... truly sincere but naive wishful thinking does not make reality; it hides from it

Pat Casanova

Prostitutes and tax collectors were attracted to Our lord, that did not make Him bad as the scribes and pharisees said. They loved "guilt by association".

laurelmarycecilia

the salient point is the direction of approval .... here it is not from the Pope to the Cardinals mentioned but rather the other way around,,,,,,,,,, indicating similar viewpoints...eg., synodal church, 'soft'(?) socialism and/or liberation theology. This is not "...association...", it is a sign of approval

laurelmarycecilia

also.... I am as old as dirt. I remember the clarity and strength of Pope Pius XII... the church before VII. 'Sort of orthodox" may be an improvement from Bergolio, but only the Truth, the Whole Truth and nothing but The Truth will suffice.

It makes sense in what he says.

Balaam’s ass spoke God’s truth too despite his limitations.True words above…
Very astute: The Vatican is bankrupt. EU is bankrupt. S. America and Africa have no cash. Solution? Who has the most cash? USA and Wall Street.
Vatican: We just gave you a US pope.
USA donates the cash to get the Vatican out of hock.
That’s the “power behind closed doors”’ deal that was done.

Marie Marietta

There was a time when people said there will never be a US pope because it would appear like Americans paid for him. Now you're saying the Vatican gave us a US pope and it wants us to pay for him. We really have no choice, do we?
