His Excellency the bishop José met Lucia, for the first time, around 1920-1921, and questioned her about the events. He proposed to her leaving Fatima and going to Oporto, because there she was not yet known. From the diary of Sister Lucia:
"Again, in Fatima, I kept inviolate my secret. But the joy I felt in saying goodbye to the Bishop was short-lived. I recalled to my mind my family, the father's house, the Cova da Iria, the Cabeço, the Valinhos, the well ... and now should I go away from everything, thus, once and forever? And without knowing where to go...? I said yes to the Bishop, but now I'll tell him that I regretted, and do not want to go there. "

She was in this inner struggle, when she went to the Cova da Iria:
«So careful and solicitous, You, once again, came down to earth, and then I felt your friendly and maternal hand touching me on the shoulder; I looked up and saw You; it was You, the Blessed Mother, giving me a hand and showing me the way. Your lips opened and the sweet timbre of your voice brought back again light and peace to my soul: “Here I am for the seventh time, go, follow the path along which the Bishop wants to take you, this is the will of God.”
Then I repeated my 'yes', now a 'yes' much more conscious than that of May 13, 1917; and while you were again raising towards heaven, it came to my mind, at a glance, a whole series of wonders which in that same spot, only four years ago, I was given to contemplate."

The Final Apparition of Our Lady of Fatima happened on 16 June 1921.
On June 16, 1921 without saying farewell to anyone, Lucia left her home for the college at Asilo de Vilar. When they were passing the road to the Cova da Iria, Lucia stopped and for the last time prayed her Rosary there. She didn't know that she will not see the Cova da Iria again until 1946. At that moment Our Lady appeared to Lucia to give her strength and consolation.
What Sister Lucy did not write in her Memoirs, but confided to Canon Galamba during the course of her pilgrimage to Fatima from May 20-22, 1946, is that Our Lady then favored her with a new apparition:
Canon Galamba writes, "She [Lucia] recalled to me how, on the day of her farewell to the Cova da Iria and departure for Porto, she had seen Our Lady once more, at the bottom of the little hill which faces the steps going up to the church.
Question by Canon Galamba: “And She said nothing to you?”
Answer by Sr. Luciá: “Nothing.”
But this vision, in this place and on this day, filled her soul with power to bear with love the cross which the Divine Spouse had placed upon her shoulders."

"June 15, 1921 – Our Lady appears to Lucia a Seventh time" it is important to make the distinction, that this Seventh time is not the same as the seventh time that Our Lady mentions in May of 1917.

In May of 1917 Our Lady made it clear that she would return to that same location a seventh time. This is very specific, the next time she visited Lucia may have been a seventh time but it was NOT at the cova. Our lady also appeared to her an eighth, ninth etc.

The 1921 visitation to Sister Lucia is not not in context with the May 1917. And this is proven by Sister Lucia herself in the 1950 interview.

“AFTERWARDS, I WILL COME BACK HERE A SEVENTH TIME.” This last sentence, long omitted by historians,212 no doubt because of its mysterious character, remains for us uncertain in meaning to this day.
In 1946, during a brief stay at Fatima, Sister Lucy confided to Canon Galamba213 that Our Lady had appeared to her at the Cova da Iria on June 16, 1921, when she stopped there early in the morning before leaving for the college of Vilar, at Porto. It was a silent apparition, solely to comfort the little seer on this day, when she believed she was leaving Aljustrel and the Cova da Iria forever.
Was this apparition the seventh one announced on May 13, 1917? Certain authors think so, and it is possible.214 But has Sister Lucy affirmed it categorically? We do not know. While waiting for the decisive documents we cannot dismiss a priori the hypothesis of Father Martins dos Reis: «In spite of its material coincidence», he writes, «it is very doubtful that this seventh apparition, so strictly individual, corresponds to the seventh apparition promised on May 13, 1917. If we consider the first six, this promised seventh apparition seems to require and imply recipients and an audience of an equally general and collective character. We do not know what Lucy thinks of this, or even, as is most probable, whether she has concrete reasons for giving a judgment on this question...
«Is this promised apparition in relation with the third part of the secret?... When the whole mystery of Fatima shall be completed?»

According to this hypothesis, may we not hope that when all Her requests shall have been fully accomplished by the Holy Father and all the bishops of the world, Our Lady, full of kindness, will manifest Herself a seventh time in the Cova da Iria to mark the dawn of Her triumph?
