May he rest in peace (because I don't wish anyone bad, although who knows about him?) but Hubbard died today, 8-19-2023 at 84. All I can say is he was not a Catholic bishop. He was a dissenter and a radical...to the very end.

Ah, perhaps Bergoglio would have some bonus fun making Hubbard a cardinal, too. "Marriage? Stroke? Who am I to judge? Give him a hat! Nobody can stop the god of surprises!"

John A Cassani

All of that would have happened if he was 15 or 20 years younger. His career may have actually been hindered by being made bishop so young, just before things moved in a somewhat more “conservative” direction.

May Jesus have mercy on him.

I don't wish bad on anyone, but the timing is peculiar....right after the scandal of him running off and getting married with no permission etc. Maybe God's justice. If that is possible.... something similar might be just around the corner for Francis before his anticipated new batch of Cardinals and his Synod.
Considering the scandal he just caused, the Diocese of Albany has a lot of gall asking for prayers for this "bishop", although I don't wish bad on him.
