Meeting: Tuesday Cardinal Gerhard Müller, the Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, and Bishop Bernard Fellay, the Superior General of the Society of St. Pius X met in the Vatican for two hours. The meeting was attended by other representatives from both sides. The two parties discussed several problems and agreed to proceed in stages and within a reasonable time-frame towards the possible goal of full reconciliation. This was their first encounter since the resignation of Pope Benedict XVI. Cardinal Müller is considered as a big enemy of the Society of St. Pius X.
Ultraliberal: According to a high-ranking prelate in Rome 72-years-old Archbishop Piero Marini will be the new Prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of Sacraments. Marini was the Master of Pontifical Liturgical Ceremonies from 1987 to November 2007. He belongs to the ultraliberal fraction in the Vatican.
