On March 8, Bishop Richard Williamson celebrated his 80th birthday with a Pontifical High Mass in a hotel in England under emergency conditions. In the beginning of his excellent 40-minute-homily, he recalled his first step as a Protestant unbeliever toward the Church. At some point, he visited Ireland stopping at a monastery where he met a Benedictine monk who told him: “The help of God is closer than the door.”
