Unlike animals, humans can freely form habits, which can either guide us toward God and happiness or lead us to destruction. Good habits, called virtues, make virtuous living easier, just as bad habits make vice easier. Every small act leaves a lasting mark on our character. While intellectual habits build skills, only moral habits form true character. Therefore, developing virtuous habits in youth is essential for a happy, stable life, free from anxiety and spiritual loss.
