All folklore , read genesis . God passed all the animals before Adam and none was found a suitable companion,yes not even the dogs and cats. Animals are great when they are in service to God and man as working animals but not as companions.

There is a big difference between having a working animal and a pet. I guess you don't understand the difference between a guard dog and a stupid cat that supposedly welcomes new babies.
