The Holy Father sent a video message to the faithful gathered for the Statio Orbis Mass in Dublin in June 2012.
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
With great affection in the Lord, I greet all of you who have gathered in Dublin for the Fiftieth International Eucharistic Congress, especially Cardinal Brady, Archbishop Martin, the clergy, religious and faithful of Ireland, and all of you who have come from afar to support the Irish Church with your presence and prayers.
The theme of the Congress – Communion with Christ and with One Another – leads us to reflect upon the Church as a mystery of fellowship with the Lord and with all the members of his body. From the earliest times the notion of koinonia or communio has been at the core of the Church’s understanding of herself, her relationship to Christ her founder, and the sacraments she celebrates, above all the Eucharist. M l'abbé Michel a promis de vivre en communion avec son évêque dans le respect et l'obéissance. Rome le lui rappelle d'une certaine façon.
Je n'approuve pas la décision de Mgr Nourrichard mais l'abbé Michel se doit de suivre ce que lui demande son évêque.
Le Saint Curé d'Ars lui-même obéissait à son évêque même lorsqu'il n'y voyait pas la volonté du Bon Dieu.
Courage monsieur l'abbé, même si cela est difficile de partir, le Bon Dieu vous donnera d'autres brebis à garder.

je ne comprends vraiment pas cet acharnement. Pour moi le message est pourtant bien clair. Il a dit les propos d'un non historien, ce qui veut dire clairement qu'il reconnaît que ses thèses sont historiquement infondées.
Hélas, je crains que non, on reproche encore à Monseigneur Williamson de ne pas avoir abjuré ses propos.
L'Agence France Presse écrit notamment : "Le président de l'Union des communautés juives italiennes Renzo Gattegna, cité par l'agence Ansa, a jugé la lettre de Mgr Williamson "absolument ambigüe". L'évêque "évite soigneusement" dans cette lettre de "renier les thèses négationnistes" ou de "citer la Shoah", a relevé M. Gattegna."
C'est donc bien loin d'être fini. Monseigneur Williamson va goûter aux fruits de tolérance que ne vont pas manquer de dispenser nos bonnes, prudes et pieuses âmes donneuses de leçons.
