Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate Refused
The Vatican crackdown on the Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate continues. During the general assembly of the sisters in April in Rome Cardinal Braz de Aviz, the prefect of the Congregation for the Religious, his secretary Monsignor Carballo and Father Sabino Ardito, the commissioner of the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate, were present. According to Riposte-Catholique.fr, the trio tried to force upon the sisters new constitutions, but the sisters refused.
Enemies Are Losing Lawsuit After Lawsuit
Riposte-Catholique.fr also knows that the enemies of Father Stefano Manelli, the founder of the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate, are losing lawsuit after lawsuit. On May 8 a hearing should have taken place regarding the patrimony of the associations who support the Friars and Sisters. Manelli and two other friars were supposed to be on the bench. But the hearing was delayed because of an unexplained absence of the judge. Because the accusations are minor, according to Riposte-Catholique.fr the lawsuit will likely be dropped.

The webpage refers to the financial scandal among the OFM Franciscans. In December 2014 it became known that the OFM were involved in great financial troubles. Riposte-Catholique.fr explains the lack of Vatican interest with the fact that the then superior general under whose supervision the scandals took place, is now the secretary of the Congregation for the Religious, busy persecuting the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate.
The Difference Between (Modern) Catholics and Orthodox
The sidelined Russian-Orthodox Metropolitan of Kaluga, Kliment Kapalin, has stated in a homily that the opinions of Catholics about God are – quote – “unacceptable”. He illustrated the irreducible differences between the Catholic and Orthodox faiths by comparing Francis of Assisi and Seraphim of Sarov. Francis tried to imitate Christ – quote - "outwardly", fasting, suffering and giving up material wealth, but for Kliment, "it is not the renunciation of wealth that saves us but the union with Christ". Kliment prefers the example of Seraphim who for a thousand days and a thousand nights lived on top of a rock repeating Jesus’s prayer: "O God, have mercy on me, a sinner".

The picture on the left was taken from the news report given on June 14. The picture on the right was taken from today’s report (June 21). Not only is there a difference in coloration in the two pictures but there is an undesirable discoloration around the lower half of the presenter’s (Doina's) neck in the pic from June 14. The “discoloration” is likely due to uneven lighting.
The quality of today’s video is better with a more natural color balance and the artifact around the neck is gone. This is the result of better and more uniform lighting on the subject. Did someone recently pay the electric bill?

Regarding the Russian-Orthodox Metropolitan of Kaluga, Kliment Kapalin, although he doesn’t hesitate to judge what he perceives to be differences and attempts to minimize the tremendous heroic virtue of St.Francis of Assisi, he completely fails to understand what his own Orthodox saint Seraphim has written about judging others:
Non-Judgment and the Forgiveness of Offenses
It is not right to judge anyone, even if you have seen someone sinning and wallowing in the violations of God’s laws with your own eyes, as is said in the word of God: "Judge not, that ye be not judged" (Mt. 7:1). "Who art thou that judgest another man’s servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand" (Rom. 14:4). It is much better always to bring to memory the words of the apostle: "Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall" (1 Cor. 10:12).
Why do we judge our neighbors? Because we are not trying to get to know ourselves. Someone busy trying to understand himself has no time to notice the shortcomings of others. Judge yourself — and you will stop judging others. Judge a poor deed, but do not judge the doer. It is necessary to consider yourself the most sinful of all, and to forgive your neighbor every poor deed. One must hate only the devil, who tempted him. It can happen that someone might appear to be doing something bad to us, but in reality, because of the doer's good intentions, it is a good deed. Besides, the door of penitence is always open, and it is not known who will enter it sooner — you, "the judge," or the one judged by you.
