The faith of few can set the world on fire.

The faith of few can set the world on fire (Benedict XVI) October 20 2019 XXIX Sunday of Ordinary Time Dear brothers and sisters, in order to understand why Jesus invites his disciples to keep on praying without getting tired, we must briefly reflect on the mystery of His life. In fact, it is only through the intimate union he had with the Father, fruit of his incessant prayer, that Jesus, Son of God, was able to defeat evil and death. The Redeemer of the world, in fact, for his uninterrupted union with the Father, obtains the absolute victory over evil not only when he heals the sick from every kind of disease, not only when he brings the dead back to life, but above all when he forgives sins by purifying the heart of man from selfishness which is the root of all the evil which is in the world. A victory that is accomplished, paradoxically, when our Savior "loses" his life for our love on the Cross, unleashing that explosion of "light" which is the Resurrection. Dear brother and sisters, we too can participate in Jesus' victory over evil and death if, through our incessant prayer, united with Him as the branches to the Vine of which the Father is the Winemaker, we fill ourselves with the same "sap" of God's love loosing our life in the service of our brothers, especially the last and the ”discarded" of society. This is our faith, this is our mission: to set the world on fire with God's love!
