Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Dear Friends, as every Christmas, our Mother, the Holy Catholic Church, would like to help all of her children to dive in that ocean of light, in that mysterious abysm that is the humility of God who, for our love and for our salvation, humbled Himself as nos remind the Apostle of the Gentiles, St. Paul, in the letter to the Philippians :
"Though he was God, he did not count equality with God something to be grasped. But he emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, becoming as human beings are; and being in every way like a human being, he was humbler yet, even to accepting death, death on a cross. And for this God raised him high, and gave him the name which is above all other names; so that all beings in the heavens, on earth and in the underworld, should bend the knee at the name of Jesus and that every tongue should acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Phil 2, 6-11
Humility, dear friends, is Jesus’ way of life, a way of living which surprises us, upsets us, leaves us a loss for words…
Several times Pope Francis has spoken about God’s upside down revelation...
In fact, Jesus by revealing himself in the way he did, shows that he is a Messiah different than what was commonly expected at the time: he’s not “a powerful and glorious king, but a humble and disarmed servant; not a gentleman with great wealth, a sign of blessing, but a poor man who has not place to rest his head; not a patriarch with numerous descendants, but a homeless bachelor without a nest. It’s truly a revelation of God upside down, and the most disconcerting sign of this scandalous reversal is the Cross. However, it’s precisely through the Cross that Jesus will achieve the glorious resurrection…”
May the contemplation of the baby Jesus sleeping in the manger of Bethlehem, free us from the slavery of our selfishness and the grace which flow forth from the mystery of the Incarnate Word of God help us to make ours, Jesus’ way of life.
