German Bishop, Blessing of Gay Pseudo-Marriage Opposes Gospel
The Church has "no leeway" to bless gay relationships, said Auxiliary Bishop Dominikus Schwaderlapp in Cologne, Germany.
Talking to Die Tagespost (March 8), Schwaderlapp said that the blessing of gay couples would imply a “distancing from the Gospel”. According to Schwaderlapp, the Church may not bless a relationship that implies sexual activity outside of a marriage.
Schwaderlapp's statement means little to nothing since bishops are generally known to confuse the Catholic Faith with personal opinions which they may change from one moment to the next.
