Nombreux furent les martyrs de la fidélité à l'Église catholique romaine, particulièrement en Angleterre et dans le Pays de Galles au XVIIe siècle, comme ce fut le cas pour les prêtres réfractaires en France cent ans plus tard.
John Roberts était originaire de Trawfynydd au nord du Pays de Galles. Sa foi le rendait plus proche de Rome que de la Communion anglicane. C'est pour cela que l'étudiant en droit à Oxford, profitant d'un séjour à Paris, s'en vint à Notre-Dame de Paris pour y être reçu dans l'Église catholique en 1598. Il fit ensuite profession religieuse chez les bénédictins de Compostelle et y fut ordonné prêtre. Il retourna en Angleterre en 1602, à l'abbaye de Downside et, durant la peste de Londres en 1603, il fut d'une admirable charité. Il fut emprisonné plusieurs fois. This digital clone offered all the same buttons and menus for booking flights, hotels and rental cars. It included the same blue links for tracking frequent flier miles and browsing discount deals. It even used the United brand name and logo.
So United’s lawyers sent a formal takedown notice accusing the site of violating its copyrights.
Div Garg, whose tiny company built the replica site, promptly changed the site’s name to “Fly Unified” and removed the United logo. He was not interested in stepping on United’s copyrights. He and his company built their United.com replica as a training ground for artificial intelligence.

First bishop of Trier, Germany. A basilica was built over his tomb in the catacomb of Saint Matthias.
Legend says that he was one of the 72 disciples of Christ, and that he was sent to Gaul as its first bishop in the 1st century. There, one of his companions, Maternus, died. Eucharius returned to Saint Peter the Apostle, borrowed his pastoral staff, returned to Gaul, touched Maternus with the staff, and brought him back to life.
