Incident During Old Rite Confirmation Performed By Bishop Schneider
Bishop Athanasius Schneider dropped a host during a Confirmation in the Old-Rite Cistercian Abbey of Hohenfurth, Bohemia, on June 10. Presumably, the host got caught in the bishop’s sleeve. Schneider told Gloria.tv that he did not notice the incident at first. After Mass he expressed his deepest regret over what happened. The deacon knelt down during Mass to pick up the host. An unused corporal was spread over the place to protect possible particles. After the mass, the deacon kissed the ground in awe and purified the spot.

A nun of the Missionaries of Jesus who worked in Jalandhar diocese in the northern Indian state of Punjab, filed a sexual abuse case against the bishop, Monsignor Franco Mulakkal. A diocesan spokesman called this “a false case filed in retaliation”, MatersIndia.com writes. The spokesman said that the nun went to the police after the diocese filed a police case against her brother who had sent life-threatening letters to Bishop Mulakkal. The nun has made several charges against the bishop and her superiors after she was removed from her posts in the congregation.

Simoni said that he continues performing exorcisms and that through him the Lord has given fertility to women who had troubles to procreate.

I don’t buy it. How does a host get caught in the sleeve if the minister of communion is removing one host at a time, holding on to that host and then placing it directly on the tongue of the communicant?

I don’t buy it. How does a host get caught in the sleeve if the minister of communion is removing one host at a time, holding on to that host and then placing it directly on the tongue of the communicant?
My theory is that the server/deacon either fumbled the host while it was being put on the tongue, before it was put on the tongue or afterward. The Communion-plate in the video is, in my opinion, much too small. It is barely the size of the palm of the server’s hand offering minimal insurance against dropping the host to the floor.
Back in the days of little Holy Cannoli, the Communion-plates were larger than what is shown in this video plus there was a handle of about 10-12 inches that allowed the server to always be following below the host as it was being given and especially while it was being placed on the tongue. These mini Communion-plates may be the fashion of the day but, as in this case, their effectiveness is questionable.
