While Francis is "forbidding" to preside the Eucharist of the former Latin Rite toward the Lord, he has sacked Syro-Malabar Archbishop Antony Kariyil, 72, of Ernakulam-Angamaly, India, who wanted to do just that.
Mathrubhumi.com (25 July) writes that the notice was handed over to Kariyil personally after he was summoned to Delhi.
The reason: Kariyil sides with those priests who oppose Cardinal George Alencherry's decision to celebrate the Syro-Malabar Mass toward the Lord.
Now, Kariyil is forbidden to live in his former archdiocese.

Well,if he wanted to "preside" facing the people rather than the Lord, he deserves to have been sacked. Latin Rite Roman Catholics should return to celebrating Mass facing the Lord, not in the Presbyterian/Lutheran was of facing the people.
