At least 100 consecrated hosts were scattered across the car park of St Peter's Church in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, during an Easter service.
The Rev. Timothy Grassi said the church reported the action to National Park Service law enforcement.
Grassi told CatholicNewsAgency.com (5 April) that he was certain the hosts did not come from his church because they were a different size: "I don't know of any churches that have identified hosts that have been stolen to this extent." He suggested that the hosts were probably not consecrated.

Why does the opening paragraph of this story speak of "consecrated" hosts, but then quotes the priest from that parish as saying they did not come from that church and were probably "not" consecrated?
