Francis Has Received a Promising Visitor
On May 15, La Plata’s kissing expert Víctor Fernández was his guest. Fernández said afterwards that Francis’ health “is better than when he lived in Argentina." He disclosed that Francis has two-hour daily physical therapy sessions.
Fernández reported on the diocesan homepage that “I am in Rome on a visit to the Holy Father Francis” – an indication that Fernández is about to be named Buenos Aires Archbishop.
In the meantime, Fernández has relaunched his book “Heal me with your mouth. The art of kissing” (Lumen: Buenos Aires, 1995). This is how he explains the purpose of this book,
I would like to make it clear that this book is not so much written from my own experience, but from the lives of people who kiss. And in these pages, I want to synthesise popular sentiment, what people feel when they think of a kiss, what mortals experience when they kiss. To do so, I talked at length with many people who have a great deal of experience in the subject, and also with many young people who are learning to kiss in their own way. I also consulted many books, and I wanted to show how poets talk about kissing. So, trying to synthesise the immense richness of life, I came up with these pages in favour of kissing. I hope they help you to kiss better, that they motivate you to release the best of your being in a kiss".
