Again: Catholic Governor Allows Liturgy, Uncatholic Bishop Forbids It
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, a Catholic, exempted religious congregations from a mandatory coronavirus panic stay-at-home order.
Only few hours later, Miami Archbishop Thomas Wenski forbad his priests to celebrate any public liturgies, including Easter Masses.
For Wenski, who risks his life as a biker, it's “not prudent” for priests to celebrate any liturgy,
“Parishes are not to celebrate ‘drive-through’ palms, confessions, Holy Communion or any similar type of activity.”
In March, Saint Augustine parish in Coral Gables, Miami Archdioceses, still offered drive-thru confessions.
