Leo XIV's Invitee James Martin: "Men Should Kiss Each Other in Public"

In light of Pope Leo XIV's audience for the pro-homosexual figurehead Father James Martin on 1 September, here are some of his statements.

- In several posts, Father Martin noted: "For a teaching to be truly authoritative, it must be accepted by the people of God, by the faithful. The teaching that LGBT people must be celibate their entire lives has not been received."

- In August 2017, during an interview at Villanova University, he told a male questioner his hope that "in 10 years he would be able to kiss his partner or soon-to-be husband".

- At a symposium held at Fordham University in September 2017, Fr Martin described homosex "marriage" as "a loving act" and said the Church must "reverence" it. He labelled Catholics as "homophobic" and "closed-minded".

- In a September 2019 talk at St Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, he stated that it is a "fact" that people are born homosexual [yet not as adulterers, thieves, criminals,...]. He added that this is "a psychological, psychiatric, and biological truth".

- In the same talk, Fr Martin suggested that the Catholic Church's teaching on homosexuality as "objectively disordered" should be modified and is cruel.

- In November 2000, he promoted the idea that homosexuals should be ordained to the priesthood in the Jesuit magazine America.

- In several statements, Fr Martin referred to God as "Her", calling the use of female imagery for God "theologically correct".

- When Pope Francis "allowed" the "blessings" for homosexuals, Fr Martin described it as "a major step forward in the church's ministry to LGBTQ people," and went on to bless two homsoexuals the next day.

- For decades, Fr. Martin has praised pro-homosexual activists within the clergy and received awards from pro-homosexual groups.

The next time you’re told that you must accept Traditionis Custodes, quote back verbatim what Father James Martin has said about how teachings need to be “received.”

Hehe, that's good! I'm gonna remember that!

Fr James Martin says — “The message I received was that Pope Leo will be continuing with the same openness and that Francis showed to LGBTQ Catholics.” (sic) “I found Leo to be joyful, relaxed and serene. He is a joy to be with!”
