PiusX Gives In

The German and the U.S. district of the Society of St Pius X are the first to announce the suspension of all Masses. More districts will follow.

Father Jürgen Wegner, the U.S. district superior, said that "we tried as long as we could" and in unusual ways to keep public apostolates open.

However, he adds, “stay-at-home orders, restrictions to small groups, and obligatory social distancing make it impossible in almost all the places to serve our faithful and guarantee their health, even where we multiply the number of Masses.”

Under the pretext of “protecting the laity, especially the elderly,” Wegner cancels public sacraments because he "must" cooperate "with all legitimate authorities.”

One wonders why they cannot celebrate parking lot masses.

It is a lot easier to challenge the Big lie than to alter Catholic worship to fit the big lie.

There are parking lot masses still being held by sspx in America. I have been to them and will attend this Sunday

Read this policy by an SPPX priest.
We will, of course, continue to tend to your spiritual needs. Confession, Communion and Extreme Unction are still permitted, on a request-by-request basis, being prudent in all things. I also encourage priests where possible to keep our chapels open for private prayer, following the legal guidelines. From the District, we have made sure that the priests are close to you and can come to your aid whenever you call on them. I have also encouraged the priests to make more liberal use of Extreme Unction in these times, not waiting, for instance, for hospitalization to administer this powerful sacrament. Consider that some of our priests will now put their lives in danger to administer Extreme Unction! Never hesitate to call for guidance or to ask for priestly support, for Communion, confession, Extreme Unction, or special blessings.
Could this not be done in every diocese?
He doesn't say anything about parking lot masses but he does not rule out "public" masses.
They may think there wouldn't be proper reverence in holding an outdoor Mass but they could say it inside and broadcast it outside and if they could get a Jumbotron, it would be possible for attendees to watch.
